Interview: Lilah, age 2.75

Lilah and I always have a little chat near her bedtime.  I like to ask her about her day, things that happened between us, what she thinks about what I know she realizes going on in the world.  It's our time to just catch up, talk about important things, say our prayers and sing a couple of songs.  Tonight I remembered that my friend Rebecca has some really cool interviews with her daughter through the years, and I decided I needed to interview Lilah.

It was too hilarious; I think I will start this annually on her 3rd birthday and record them.  Part of the comedy was in HOW she answered, not just her answers.

But here is her tiny interview for your reading pleasure:

First, I had my note ap on my phone open, and Lilah said, "Is you writing me down?  On the paper Mommy?  On that paper?  Why you write me on this paper?"

So I told her I wanted to ask her a few questions so I could remember the things she likes as little girl.  And then she says, "Welllll...is me have you a favor.  What do you know about elephants?"

And I said, "Well...I know they are the world's largest land animal."

And she said, "Me like.....ELEPHANT COOKIES!!!!"

Because we made some elephant cookies together last weekend, and apparently, they were really good.

and after we finally extoled all the virtues of elephant cookies, we got down to the questions.

Favorites:

Cereal:  "Oatmeal"

Vegetable:  "Um....Cranberries."

Drink:  "Milk.  Me like milk."

Toy:  "Um....let me check.  Um....a BABY!  And me like to put a baby on my back and ride ride ride."

TV Show:  "Me not know yet.  About...what's that show with Blue?  Me like Blue.  And David...no, that's my teacher.  What that man's name again?  *Me:  Steve*  OH YEAH!  Steve.  Me like Steve and Blue."

Book:  Let me check in bed...um, this book?  (It's a Raggedy Ann book)

Restaurant:  *I thought she might not understand, so I asked her "What's your favorite place to eat?"*  "The dining room!  *Then I asked her did she like Chick-fil-A or coffee to a tea...* Oh, yeah, Chickalay!  No.  Write Coffee to a Tea."

Holiday:  "Christmas!"

Animal:   "Elephant!!!!"

If you could change your name, what would you choose?  "Baby, cause me like it."

What do you love about each person in our family?  "Not know yet.  This is HARD!"

Where would you like to go on a vacation?  "You gotta put your swimminsuit on and go to a beach for a vacation."

What are some of your wishes for this year?  "Daddy."
