Sous Chef

Friday night, Lilah and I decided to make muffins for breakfast. Saturday morning she asked to help, so we read the directions together and started to make muffins.

I first asked her to find the number on the measuring cup that matched the one on the package: 1/2. She was able to do that very easily! She's good at matching, even when she doesn't know exactly what it is she is matching.

Then I let her pour the milk from the cup into the bowl.

Finally she "sterned" it all up.

Please note that Lilah is a 50's housewife, baking in full-on princess regalia WITH  heels.  I am totally going to start doing this more.

"Sterning" the muffin mix.

This endeavor was extra fun because I actually cleaned the kitchen Friday night - like really good - so we had room to work and I wasn't tripping all over mess.

Now if I could only get the rest of the house under such control...

Later on Saturday we tried ice skating.

Stay tuned for the full confessions of ice skating with a 3-year-old!

I love love love love love you daughter. Mainly because she's the reincarnation of how Katie was at that age. Except my kid couldn't rock the heels - you have a totally GIFTED kid there!!!

Happy belated birthday - three is one of the most fun ages - just relish it! (She'll be a tween sooner than you want)
