Picture Pages!

Here are some things I have been meaning to post but have been too lazy to do until now:

The finished gummi bear cake in all it's gummi glory

I'd say that's the face of a satisfied customer!

I picked these tall, skinny candles and placed them (one for each decade!) so they would look like some sort of special ceremonial lights.

Before the end of the evening, Stuart had ripped the head clean off stone gummi god and eaten him with his bare hands. Success!

This was one of my hydrangea bushes from earlier this summer - about 3 weeks ago. They've thinned out now, mostly because I keep cutting them to bring inside :-D

My favorite is this crazy white bush that has just a hint of color on the flowers. Some are a little pink, some are a little blue, and when they first started out blooming, they were that awesome limey green color!

Mr. Mike knows the importance of stopping to smell any flowers :-D

What is possibly my favorite invitation I've made so far...for a baby shower.

Open it up for all the info!

And finally -

I made this banana pudding on Sunday.

You WANT to make this pudding. It is so good, I ate some for breakfast. I'm not kidding. It is so far removed from anything healthy, and it is thick and creamy and luxurious and to steal a phrase from my friend Lauran, it is RUB IT IN YOUR HAIR good! I think it would also make an excellent face mask. It makes enough for roughly ten thousand people, so if you've got a Fourth of July party at work coming up or a picnic or any summer family gathering plans and you like a good old fashioned southern banana pudding...MAKE THIS PUDDING. I didn't have a 5oz box of the French vanilla, so I used my 3.4 oz box plus about half of a 3.4 oz box of banana flavored pudding. That adds a touch more "banana-ness" without making it taste superfake, in my opinion.

In the meantime, someone come help me eat it. It will murder my soul to have to throw any of it away, but there's no way on earth I can or should eat it all! LOL. Maybe I should invite people over for dinner tomorrow night... :-D

Well, I have to hurry to the shower. I went to swim laps today at the gym for my work out, and it was fun but exhausting! I've got a lot to do in the next 2.45 hours, so I hope everyone has a lovely day!

I love the cake and the invitation! I'm actually making a ladybug cake for Olivia's birthday that will look like the picture of the open invitation. Now I know where to look for a reference! I also love the hydrangeas. We have some by our front door and they're a different color this year (deep pink) than they were last year (light purple). I guess our soil changed. Did you know the soil type determines the color?

Cheyenne - I read that the more acidic your soil is, the bluer the flowers, and the more alkaline, the pinker.

I feel like ours is pretty in between right now as they are fairly purple :-D

Love to see your super-creativeness at work. You are seriously so talented. Give me some of that, please. How was your first day of work, btw? And, thanks for the scolding about taking Ethan to the movie. I really don't think he bothered anyone b/c the movie was so freaking loud. We didn't get any nasty looks or anything. I've sat in theaters with worse behaved adults! We gotta keep livin'...

HA HA! Jeni - I can't help it. I have to throw out the point of view of the childless, you know. :-D Of course, I have the feeling I'll always have the point of view of the childless, even when I'm not...

ANYWAY- I hear you on the worst behaved adults, I really do! They shouldn't be at the movies, either :-p

Work is work. You know how it is.

Our neighbor brought me some flowers from her hydrangea bush that are like your white ones tinged with blue. They are so pretty. I envy all those with hydrangea bushes. I'm getting some next spring...I've already decided. The old lady on the corner has an entire hedge row of hydrangeas and I see them from my front porch. It's dangerous, you know...I'm starting to covet!
