Picture Pages

I took Lilah back to the same photographer from last year who had real bunnies for Easter portraits. This year, Lilah was not super excited about the bunnies. She seemed to want to study the bunny rather than the pure glee she had over merely being in the bunnies' presence last year. Like this:

Fortunately, the photographer took enough photos that we managed to get a couple that were very sweet.

She warmed up to the bunny more when he was in this little purse/basket. But they tried to get a shot of Lilah holding the bunny in her arms, which didn't work out because she didn't realize that she was an active participant in keeping the bunny off the ground. So as he started to slide to his doom, he reached out to grab hold of anything - which in this case was Lilah's neck - and she never forgave him. "I's finished," she declared post-scratch. Not even the introduction of a cute, fluffy, baby chick could change her mind. "No. I no want it. I's finished."

What she DID want was this little red vinyl 50's diner-style chair. So we switched her outfits from the Easter dress I made and put on the little blue sailor-inspired number that I wore at almost exactly her age (Check this post again soon, because I'm looking for that picture!), which was made for me by my aunt. And THOSE pictures ended up being my favorites. But I mean, how could they not be. Look at her:

The second one is my absolute favorite. Of all time. I think it's the best picture I've ever seen taken of Lilah. And that, combined with the fact that the photographer is actually REASONABLY priced makes me confident in returning to her again for the next set of "pro" pictures I have done. Because I can take Lilah's picture all day, but I don't have all the equipment, or people working for me to process the photos, or the Photoshop actions to batch process the gazillion pictures I end up taking.

And I definitely don't have the little red chair.

You are right- that second picture is very cute. Even Michael commented on how sweet she is in it.

I love her Easter dress. You made that? You are incredibly talented and I envy you.

Love the dress. I'm still trying to finish up Isla's. I do like the second shot...such a true Lilah smile.
