I know, I know -

I still owe you fine folks TWO DAYS worth of Vermonty stuff. And it's coming, I promise. But when you have a crew of 3-5 guys working at your house 12 hours a day and part of that includes having the whole side of your house open to the free world, well...you can't really concentrate on the happy good times of Vermont that happened almost a month ago. :-/ But I will show you some photos that show the progress of the renovations, if'n ya wanna see 'em!

So, here is what we started with last Friday morning: This is the side of the house that faces our side road. As we start the day, there are two screened in porches. Oh, that poor porch doesn't know what's about to happen to it...

EEEP! I don't know if you notice or not, BUT THERE IS A HUGE FRAKING HOLE IN MY HOUSE! This was what I came home to on Saturday afternoon after spending the day shopping to avoid the house. Can I just tell you - it is LOUD when people saw through your roof and into your house. LOUD. Poor Sully Cat...they started the "You can see Jesus from your house!" process on Friday, and so this is when he went into hiding and we really haven't seen much of him since. It is heartbreaking, truly.

Here is what I came home to yesterday afternoon. Hey - there is a kind of roofy part up there! That seems promising...

And here is how I left it when I came to work today at 12:15. To get away. From the dust. The insipid, creeping, up your nose into your lungs to kill you dust. Ben and I had been talking about how - while the crew took off for two days during his business trip so I wouldn't have to deal with them - I would clean up the dining room, put stuff into tubs, take pictures down, etc. and cover the dining room table with a tarp as well as tarp off the living room and kitchen hallway from the sure to be dusty mess that would occur when all of a sudden, three dudes with an electric saw start taking out the window thresholds in my dining room, thus ending our plan to try and keep as little dust as possible from going as many places as possible.

And that's right, kids - this means that there is a giant gaping hole from my dining room to the great outdoors.

One can only hope that the house will be closed in and secure when I return there after work, but I have no guarantees. Just worries.

*le sigh*

Expect more posts....sometime. But tonight I may not be able to manage more than to sit on the couch and make an expressionless "OMG" face...I have no idea what will be waiting for me when I go home in two hours.

*scared!*

Oooh. I can't wait to see it all. I know the process isn't very fun. Granted we haven't done anything that big, but it's nice that it seems they are going pretty quickly. I know it's all the inside stuff that takes awhile when the actual structure stuff seems quick. It's exciting though. It doesn't matter how much you cover stuff, there will be dust. Good luck and patience.
