On Valentine's Day, Lilah had not one, not two, but THREE outfit changes due to poop/pee seepage. First she had on the super cute one-piece outfit that Jeni gave me for her at the baby shower. She had that on all of two hours before we had a poop incident. And of course, since she had it on first thing in the morning, I didn't get a chance to take her picture in it. :-(The next outfit is the one in the photo above. Sara gave her the sweater! Ben dressed her while I was in the shower...since he had to be on duty for the poop incident. That went really well. She wore it for most of the day. Of course, when we got ready to go out to dinner that night, she decided to pee on the onesie so she then needed ANOTHER costume change.
The third outfit was the same pants but with a longsleeve onesie that had hearts and flowers on it. She managed to keep that on until it was time for a different outfit altogether. No more poop/pee drama!
So our Valentine's Day was spent mostly here at the house. My parents came up on Saturday because my mom was off work today for President's Day, so they spent the long weekend here. Saturday night, we all five went out to Stax Omega because that is pretty much where Ben and I go for every Valentine's Day. For one thing, it is HUGE, so getting in isn't usually much of a wait even when it's busy. For another, people are trying to be all fancy pants so they don't think to go there. I don't care about fancy pants. I care about food. And they have everything you could ever want to eat PLUS it's all good. I got the low country shrimp and grits which ALSO came with a side salad, potato of choice (sweet potato ftw) and some steamed vegetables. Seriously. Way more food than one human could ever eat.
Ben and I celebrated our private Valentine's Day on Sunday night while Gramma and Grandpa were on baby duty. We went to Smoke on the Water, which was a favorite of ours before I was pregnant because they have THE BEST happy hour in town (half price well drinks) and really good bbq sandwiches for only $7.00, so you could go in, get two drinks each and two sandwiches with fries and get out for about $30.00. Definitely a cheap date! But they have gotten a menu renovation since the last time we were in for dinner (last fall) and we were excited to try some new items along with our old favorites. We had a nice time. It was WEIRD to be out by ourselves. I both felt like I was missing something and like I had escaped something. We've decided to try and go out for an alone dinner once a month from now on...we have a few people who are more than happy to watch Lilah for us for a couple of hours, and I figure it will only get easier to leave her for a few hours as she needs to eat less and less frequently and becomes more interactive with people. I hope. :-)
This Friday is my birthday and I'm looking forward to keeping it - and the whole weekend - low key. As much fun as we had on our couple dinner, I was kind of worn out by it, so I can't really imagine much more of an affair. We are planning on taking Lilah out to our favorite Mexican restaurant and coming back home to do not much else. Maybe if Lilah takes a good after dinner nap, we'll play some Wii. :-) And for this year, that is A-OK with me.

Yep I'm tired reading that. I glad you got to go out twice, Mike and I went to this lil' local bar and grill with $55 in gift certificates and apparently they closed down, so after being really frustrated and mad... we went to rent a movie and mcdonalds and just stayed for dinner. You're was much more exciting!
Ah! How well do I remember those days? It was quite awhile before I dared take my extra onesie out of the diaper bag and forego packing the second outfit. It makes you feel like you're actually doing something as a mom, though, doesn't it?!
I bet BenII was super spoiled by grandma and grandpa!
She is so cute! I hope she's not much of a handful...cause she looks too cute!
So glad y'all had a good fam and couple's Valentine's Day! We ordered in Mexican and watched movies on the couch--and we don't even have a kid (yet)!
Wow--I know you're tired of hearing this, but in this photo particularly, Lilah is Ben (prettier, of course, but Ben). I can't get over how much different she looks than when we last visited! It's so exciting to see, and makes me excited for the future.
