Sara, my bestie from high school and Jeni, who I became very close with in college when she was one of Sara's roommates, are both moving far, far, away.
*cue tears*
We already weren't able to get together more than once a year or so, but now that they are heading WAY off into the reaches of these United States, I'm going to have to like, buy a plane ticket to see them.
So it was good to get a chance to see them both (plus other family friends) before they got so far away.
Lilah was so excited to go swimming. She could hardly stand to wait to get in the world.
Smiles as soon as she hit the water.
So many sweet kids!
Kids jumping off diving boards.
Kids going down slides.
My kid went down the slide, too, but I was in the water to catch her, so there isn't a picture of that :-)
Aunt Sara gets her hooked up with a big swim my vest so she can go in with the big kids alone.
Kipp and Isla stayed in the little pool. I wish I could've convinced Lilah to join them!
Miss Roma assesses the situation in the little pool.
Sara was kind enough to help Lilah do some more swimming so I could take pics.
After they swam their hearts out, it was time for some lunch.
Lilah and Isla - three months apart in age, but kindred sandwich and chip spirits.
And a pic of all the big girls who are also kindred spirits...just slightly more wise!
The best part of the trip to Sara's is that driving there and back you pass these hilarious - and for the uninitiated, confusing - signs declaring "BUTTS: NEXT EXIT." One who doesn't know Southern food would assume there was a strip club or a booty bar or something that you could stop at. But a few hundred feet later, you are clued in by a "RIBS: NEXT EXIT" sign that follows.
Of course, I suppose it could be a warning that you could pick up some disassembled body parts.
