A Side - Chalkin'

Lilah and I were able to head home to Alabama this past Friday to visit with my family and my friends Sara and Jeni (and Sara's sisters Jennie, Lacy and Elizabeth).

This weekend was also the hottest weekend on earth.  Ever.

So of course, Lilah asks ninty-million times if she can "chalk" as soon as we get to my mom's.

And of course, despite it being the hottest weekend on earth, ever, my mom agrees.

We did manage to put her off until after dinner, so it would be slightly less hot than the 7th level of Hell.

First of all, please note that you must dress appropriately to "chalk."

It is ok to hold your chalk like it's an ice-cream when it is 106° outside.

Do take a moment to stand back and admire your artwork.

Then quickly get back to work.

Enlist help when necessary, especially when drawing eyes.

Show off a popsicle purple tongue (that isn't so purple anymore).

Help Gramma do the watering.

Make some waterfalls

Run to play in the puddles before they evaporate or create a mini thunderstorm over just your head.

You're ready to venture out to water on your own.

The plants - very gracious mums that they are - always say thank-you, so you must say "Your're welcome" in return.

Lilah is growing up so fast, and she is so pretty! Love the dress.
