Model Citizen

Our sweet friend Lauran sent us a gorgeous, soft pink, delicate fancy dress for Lilah right before she was born. I knew when I saw it that it was perfect for spring and Easter, and finally this weekend I had the opportunity to dress her up in her finery and attempt to take some "portraits" that would be JUST AS GOOD as Kid Shots or Portrait Innovations or Sears or whoever. Because we don't have the cash right now to pay for someone only slightly more versed in the art of photography than I am to attempt to make the same pictures that I can fool around and take eventually.

Sadly, eventually comes with a price in finery - namely drool, and the art of trying to catch the drool before it leaves a spot on the perfect dress and makes my head explode with the horror of messing up something so perfect and pretty with slobber!

Also, I don't have the best lighting for these photos, so the subtle pink of the dress totally blends into the white background making the whole thing a pale wash, so I guess we'll give this a try again and let a "professional" take a stab at doing what I can't!

Ben looks great in that dress! Seriously, she's adorable. You take great pictures. If I had something more than a Cannon Point and Shoot, I might take more pictures of the kids myself, but I mainly take them to Portrait Innovations because then I know the pictures will actually get printed out. If I took them, they's stay on that SD disk for eternity. :)

I think the pictures are cute! The dress is not the object of concern - that super sweet nummy face is! Far sweeter than jelly beans and Peeps.
