With all the flowers!

Meeting cousin Seph for the first time. He was less than thrilled to leave playing with the big kids to see a silly old baby! However, he did warm up to her and remark on her "cute hands"!

Yesterday I took her to my office at the University to see the ladies there. She was PERFECT. She always shows off for a crowd. People think she's an angel baby. And honestly - most of the time she is. But bless her heart, she HATES riding in a car and we cannot get her to ride more than 20 minutes without falling apart. We are going home next Saturday for the night because a friend of my mom's is having a "meet and greet" party for her and I am DREADING it. I dread the drive there again (after last time, when the 3 hour drive home took us almost SEVEN hours). I dread the party, which is SMACK in the middle of her "ready for bed" time where she just wants to eat and go to sleep. And I dread the drive home, which will simply be a repeat of the day before. I hate it because for whatever reason, it is upsetting to her to drive in the car and I hate it because it is MISERABLE to listen to her cry for that long. She gets absolutely snotty and little wrinkles form around her mouth from where she has cried so long and had a frowny big screaming mouth and when she screams, she has that baby bird tongue where it sticks out, and then she chokes...GOD it's awful. But I don't know how else to get places...I'd love to be able to teleport, too, but we can't.
It's 9:30 on a Friday night and I'm exhausted. We had a long day, which involved a car ride more than 15 minutes (so, screaming and crying for 30 minutes in the car) and playing with some friends, and I think now I'm going to go to bed.

What a cool time, and what a priceless pic with Seph! How was that the first time he'd met her? And I bet you made that cute easter bunny basket, didn't you? Quit dissing your sewing abilities! Um, I am the recipient of many of your sewing projects, and there ain't anything sub-par about them, so shush! :)
i can't believe she wore her "ears" for so long- good girl!!! wdp hates long rdes too- we try to startegically leave right before a nap and hope the car makes him nap a little longer than normal. I used to sit in the back, but I think that makes it worse because he thinks "oh mom, she's a sucker...she'll entertain me" and you just can't be that entertaining in the car.....sorry!!!! i hope your ride goes smoothly!
Bless your heart. Bliss hated those long rides and still does. I hope Isla is better about it. So far she seems to like the movement and just sleeps.
good luck on the trip home.
