But the twins had other plans and were born last month at 27 weeks; they were 14-weeks premature. Ellie was the smaller of the two weighing only 2.2 lbs, Owen was the heavyweight champ coming in at 2.7 lbs. Both of them have had their shares of up and downs in the last 3 weeks, sadly the most recent days have brought mostly downs. Ellie had surgery yesterday to repair a hole in her heart; Owen has been battling a stomach infection that has kept him from being able to feed. But they are still fighting hard and have a fine will to thrive.
I'd like to ask you all to keep babies Ellie and Owen in your prayers, as I'm certain they'll continue to need them until they are strong and big and able to come home to their awesome nursery with mom and dad.
