Free Range

Ok, so one of the most hilarious things about my neighborhood are the free-roaming chickens on my streets. Yesterday afternoon, as I was on my way to the Greek Festival, I had to stop and talk to the more elusive of our chicken families - The grey rooster family.

So - there was the grey rooster, a white chicken, a red chicken, then the next house, there was another red chicken, a smaller red chicken, and a white duck...and they were just roaming around. The other chicken family is a red rooster with three red chickens.

Now, in our neighborhood, we are not at a loss for predatory animals, like cats and dogs. For that reason, I am shocked and awed at how many chickens survive our mean streets.

What do you think the people DO with these chickens? I mean, they can't be wild chicken families. Can they? It's just so bizzarre.

I love it.

Oh and PS I had to haul 5 gallon bucket of plaster out of a burned out house for 6 months to get my babylock- it was horrible, but I paid off the dreaded student loans and got the babylock- well worth the hard work :-)
