Here at Muldrow Preserve...

Tonight for dinner we had a venison tenderloin cooked in the crockpot with side dishes of roasted garlic and sweet potatoes and wilted spinach.

Spinach? Good. But I put too much oil in the pan. :-(

Sweet potatoes with garlic? Hella good. Nothin' but love for the potatoes.

Venison? BLECH. I don't really like wild game, but my mom brought me this tenderloin from my aunt, from a deer my uncle had gotten this year. They eat what he hunts...turkey, deer, rabbit, fish - they are game eaters. The crazy damn thing about this roast was that despite cooking in a crockpot for 6 hours, it was dry as a bone!!!! WHAT THE HELL!? I have no explanation for this. It tasted ok, but I ony had about 3 oz. And that's all I wanted. Bleh, bleh, bleh. I ate mostly potatoes :-D

Also, Mr. Mike definitely has an injury on his foot. It's his "index" finger...it's really red and swollen around his claw, but I don't know if that's because of the cut on top or if he hung it in someone as they were slicing back...anyway, he's still limping and I'm sure that I'll end up taking him to the doctor tomorrow despite our empty bank account to let them check it out...I just don't want it to get infected and then they have to take off his little fuzzy foot!!! Plus, he cries every time you touch it, and doesn't put any weight on it at all, and I've tried to clean it out and just don't seem to be helping much. So. That's that - Mr. Mike's first injury of the year. :-(

What else...OH! I got TWO orders today for quick turnaround bridal shower invitations. That's another bit of my car payment for me! Well...I guess I don't need to count my money before it's in my account. But when I get these two payments along with the other two that are coming to me via checks, I will actually have enough money to pay half my car payment! YAY! Ben said he'd really like me to be making my car payment in profit each month to start. I would LOVE that. Really - to be able to just make that contribution would be awesome. Plus I applied for 3 jobs this week, and they are part time...if I could make enough for my car payment off design work and then have a few hundred dollars a month to put extra on credit card or a new pair of shoes....perfect perfect perfect!

So I'll try to keep positive...even though that is 99% impossible for me. LOL

Ok. There are a ton of things I need to do, the least of which is printing and cutting all these thousands of invitations :-D
